Matthew Morris

Matthew Morris

North American Editorial Stylist of the Year
Founder and Owner, Matthew Morris Salon, Denver

Matthew Morris has been hooked on Aveda since first smelling Humectant Pomade, and decided right away that he wanted to attend the Aveda Marquis Institute. Since graduating, Matthew has made it his mission to continue evolving in his career. He has worked alongside Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher on stage, opened his own salon in Denver, Colo. and in 2005, Matthew won the North American Hairstyling Award for Editorial Stylist of the Year. What’s next for Matthew? “Greening my salon—from top to bottom.”

Maureen Anlauf

Maureen Anlauf

North American Hairdresser of the Year
Creative Director, Juut Salon, St. Paul

Maureen spent a long time in her basement cutting her friends’ hair before she decided that she needed to go and learn how to do it properly from the folks who knew how to do it best—at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. And learn she did all the way to the top. Maureen, who is currently a lead stylist at Juut Salon, based in Minneapolis, was crowned North American Hairdresser of the Year in 2006 and has gone on to lead numerous editorial shoots since then, becoming a finalist again in 2007.

Jon Reyman

Jon Reyman

Artistic Director, Aveda Academy, New York

As Artistic Director for Aveda’s newest advanced educational facility in New York, Jon Reyman works on a daily basis to educate hairdressers to be the best and to set trends that translate worldwide. Jon has traveled the globe with Aveda. He was drawn to the industry by the fact that he gets to make people feel good—while also making a lot of money. He enjoys living in New York because it helps him in his quest to consume as little as the Earth’s resources as possible. Jon’s advice to the newcomer is that this industry requires perseverance, intelligence and everything we have…but in the end it’s all worth it. Spoken like a true hairdresser, Jon’s favorite hairstyle is “…the last one I cut…!”
