How is AVEDA Florida Different from other Beauty Schools and why should I choose to start the journey towards my new career with them?

Starting out at Aveda, I wasnt sure of what to expect. What would I learn, what would help me in the real world, how much knowledge am I learning here that would put me ahead of the game?  Because of the name I had high expectations, and they were exceeded by a land slide.

In the first 11 weeeks, you learn all the basics. Everything from how to do a correct pontytail, to your first haircut. You are introduced to the amazingly well thought out and and environmentally friendly hair color line, as well as all of the other AVEDA products you will use and how they are made.

As you move up in the phases, you learn how to look at peoples heads and create shapes to fit their faces and head sizes. I never have seen a mens haircut done in sections, where the shape of the man’s head and the imperfections on his scalp can be covered up by all the different cutting techniques and hand positions. As I am moving up, one other thing I have noticed is the affection and genuine care you recieve from your educators. They really want us to succeed and to be amazing hairstylists. They really motivate you when you are feeling anxious or hesitasnt about your abilities.

The color line here at Aveda is very intense and can be very intimidating when first coming in contact with it. It was so well thought out and there are so many components, that a lot of us in class were questioning if we were ready for this. But with the help of our educators and directors it has become second nature to all of us, and I would never want to use a different color line.

Tammy, our universal theory teacher is instilling so much knowledge and confidence in us that I am very excited to take my State board test and become an Aveda Institute trained Hairstylist.

I have learned so much and I still have 2 1/2 phases left to go. The Masters program here is the smartest thing I have ever heard of. We will have so much real life salon expierence when graduating from here, that we can focus on being confident in our abilities. I think AVEDA Florida Institute Beauty School’s should be on the top of everyones list.

First and foremost Aveda is different from other brands not only for their products, but also for their expert skills and techniques. All of Aveda products are at least 97% naturally plant derived, which means they are made mostly of plants and natural materials which come from the earth.

Here at Aveda we comfort each and every guest with a stress relieving ritual for every service completed, which includes a scalp and shoulder massage for every haircut or style or a hand massage for the chemical services.

I was surprised to learn that many of the products I was using on my hair such as shampoos and styling products were actually damaging to my hair and very high in ph. Since I have been a student here I have changed all of my hair products to Aveda and have noticed a significant change in the health of my hair.

I have also noticed that spending more for the products have paid off because they are more concentrated than store bought products and they last a great deal longer.

When I finally decided on attending a beauty school it was no longer hard for me to look any further to make my decision. After touring various schools in the area and seeing how their curriculum was not what I was looking for – it didn’t take very long for me to make a decision on the school for me.

I have always had a passion for hair since I was a very little girl, the love for it never left. Once I graduated from high school I found myself visiting a beauty school just about every year. I would go to speak with someone from admissions and even go as far a taking a tour. Out of all the schools that I toured Aveda was the one I felt was meant to be the place for me.

I have enjoyed my experience so far, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me. From your first phone call you receive from someone in admissions, to you first tour, orientation, and up to the point of becoming a student at Aveda – you are able to see what a wonderful experience it is. Just the fact of being able to go to school each day and know that you have educators that are there not just to educate you but to help guide you along the way is a great feeling. The experience itself says enough.
