Aveda Institute Jacksonville blog posts about this years 2012 hair styles.  What did you think about the hair at this years award show?  Let us know in the comments.

Ariel-Winter-In-Dolce-Gabbana-2012-Golden-Globe-AwardsMy pick for Best Hair at the 2012 Golden Globes was Modern Family actress, Ariel Winter.

Ariel opted for a vintage wavy look. She wore her red hair in a wavy hairstyle with finger waves which made her look old Hollywood glam.

To recreate this style with Aveda products I would use Smooth Infusion Glossing Straigtner has a prep and the Brilliant Retexturizing gel to set the waves.

First I would comb the hair straight down then form a C shape with my fingers.

Next I would place two fingers inside the C shape and form another c in the opposite direction.

Continue making this pattern across the shape of the head.

To set the style, I would spray the hair with Aveda Control Force for 24 hour humidity resistance.

Sarah Hyland at the Golden Globes 2012 Hair stylesSarah Hyland (Star in sitcom “Modern Family”) for this years 2012 Golden Globes looked stunning in a vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress that made this young actress look very sophisticated.

But her dress isn’t what I thought was the best part. It was Sarahs’ hair that I couldn’t stop staring at. Her caramel locks had envious natural looking dimension with shine to die for, and it was loosely swept back into a low up-do.

With beautiful loose curls all over, it was pinned up in the back in a messy but pretty way that accentuated her face and dress perfectly.

get the look - Julianna-Moore-GoldenGlobes2012-hair-2012′s Golden Globes style was all about “New Glam“. Everything from flowing gowns, simple colors, simple make-up and casual hair styles.

One of my favorites this year was Julianne Moore.

I loved everything from her Chanel Couture dress to her emerald green earrings. However, Julianne Moore rocked the simple style of romantic waves.

This hair style is simple and easy to re-create.

To create this look you will need 1” curling iron, Smoothing Fluid and Air Controlboth Aveda products. You will also need a paddle brush.

Curl hair all over with your curling iron. Once the hair has curled, brush hair with paddle brush and apply one pumps worth of Aveda’s Smoothing Fluid to hair.

This helps fly-aways and will help you re-shape the curls around the face.

Finally, spritz hair with Aveda’s Air control for a finishing touch.

The Golden Globes is always filled with beautiful dresses and impeccable hair.

Every woman who attended looked stunning, except for Kelly Osbourne. But why expect different?

The women who stood out the most for me were Angelina Jolie with her sleeked back classic chignon and Charlize Theron with her sparkly cute headband and her side messy bun. Let’s not forget the guys Adam Levine who always looks classic and handsome along with Joseph Gordon- Levitt and Leonardo Dicaprio.

Brad Pitt of course pulled off homeless chic. But my favorite had to be Julie Bowen with her classic 50′s Marcel curls. She looked as stunning as Grace Kelly.

Julie Bowen pulled off the perfect red carpet look for the Golden Globes.

In our opinion there are many beautiful up-do’s and gorgeous long hairstyles at the Golden Globe Awards.

Out of all of the hairstyles we saw, our favorite style belongs to Charlize Theron.

Not only was her style elegant and feminine, but her hair also possessed playfulness and gave her and even more youthful appearance.

The head band she wore in her up-do complimented not only her hairstyle but it also tied her gown together with her overall look. It was a very clever final touch to her evening look.

Charlize Theron continues to raise the bar year after year for what “classic” beauty should look like.
