curly vs straight hair beauty school .edu blog taylor swift Honestly, I have no true preference. I love and fully embrace ALL hair types!!! Whether it’s kinky-curly, wavy, or straight, as long as there is a Denman and a blow-dryer around wonders can be achieved!! However for the purpose of answering the question, I will say that straight hair is usually easier to style. I don’t know if I feel this way because of the constant use of our straight haired “Betty” & “Debbie” heads. Whatever the case may be, I have found it to be the hair that conforms the most in styling. The hair usually does what you want it to do, with the help of Aveda products of course!

I have noticed that with most modern styles today the styling process is usually shorter for those with straight hair. This is because there is no need to pre-straighten or relax the natural curl pattern in the hair before creating a straight or smooth style. Also, with straight hair humidity is not a major concern compared to other hair types. So the style lasts a little longer. Straight hair is like a blank canvas. You have the ability to create as much or as less needed texture and curl to the style. Moreover, straight hair allows for an easier haircut! I love that!
