Many of us begin having “hair” fever from childhood or from working at a salon. I was the little girl who became fascinated with all the things that could be done with hair. My mother had a friend who owned her own beauty salon and naturally was my beautician. I would sit there and become mesmerized by how people looked when they left versus when they came in. Most of us can agree that our Barbie dolls ended up with a bald head from constant haircuts. Eventually, instead of dolls, it became cutting your best friends bangs or attempting to highlight your little sisters hair. It is amazing how many techniques you would mimic to create the perfect hairstyle.

Thank goodness for amazing schools like AVEDA Orlando (the best cosmetology school by far!) are here to show us the proper way to do things. For me, there is nothing better than that smile on a person’s face who absolutely loves what you’ve done with their hair. Many times a client will explain what they want and I find it very satisfying that I understand what they are talking about and know exactly what I am going to do. I believe it’s very important to personalize every hairstyle and make it your own.
