One of fall’s new shows I would like to do hair and makeup for is 30 Rock. This would be an excellent opportunity for exposure since it is on multiple networks. There is also a variety of different races and both genders represented in the cast. The main character, Liz Lemon has one-dimensional hair color and could also use a new haircut. I would give her highlights and a long concave layers haircut to frame her face. Another character is Liz Lemon’s boss, Jack Donaghy. He has a decent haircut but he has a lot of grey. I would cover the grey using the following formula: 40g 5N, 4g DNN, 4g DYO and 40g 20vol. His natural level is light brown, the NN would be to cover the grey, since he has more than 50%, and the YO would illuminate his skin tone, and add warmth, since he always wears cool colors (grey and blue suits). Another character whose hair I would like to do is Tracy Jordan. This is because he is African-American and I would like to get more experience with very textured hair. There is another character, Frank Rossitano, who had a long men’s haircut. This would be interesting to style, since it is not something we as hairstylists deal with very often. Another fun option would be to give him a completely new look, and cut his hair short. Additionally, I’d like to style Jenna Maroney’s hair. Her color and cut is nice and could be styled many different ways. Overall, I feel that a lot of different things could be done for the cast of this show. Additionally, I like this show and it has a broad audience.
