My True Calling – The AVEDA School
I come from a large family. To be precise, nine sisters and two brothers. I was the average kid always playing with my sisters’ barbies, doing their hair, learning to french braid, and all that jazz. I later realized that this was going to be what I was meant for. Growing up in a small town wasn’t easy figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.
I went through high school just like every other kid, completely oblivious of what life was going to be like in the “real world”. For all the dances, my sister and I did everyone elses’ hair. I can’t count how many times I have experimented with hair color, and styles since then. After I graduated high school I knew I wanted to serve people and make other people happy. I found this great school that offered this to me as well as natural ways of healing the body.
I went to massage therapy school in Denver, Colorado; became licensed; and started working. I felt like It wasn’t for me. After my sister graduated cosmetology school at Toni and Guy, I realized what I wanted to do. A couple of years contemplating where I wanted to go/live, I moved to Orlando. I was invited to go to a fashion show held by AVEDA Cosmetology School Orlando. Goosebumps covered me head to toe as soon I walked through the door. Life after that would be going to the “Harvard of Hair,” the best cosmetology school: AVEDA.
