Luckily, I live in Orlando…a big city, full of college kids that are keeping up with the latest fashion trends. When people think of Orlando they think of tourists getting their kids ready for a trip to Disney World, but underneath that, it is actually a mini-fashion show.

The downtown area is packed with youth defining themselves through their style.The hipsters are riding their fixed-gear bikes downtown, the girls with asymmetrical haircuts and guys with classy fohawks. Independent Bar is full of people who look like they stepped right out of the latest issue of Nylon Magazine. Everyone has taken the 90′s grunge look and made it chic with jean jackets, combat boots, and flannel everywhere. The pretty girls are pulling off septum piercings with bright red lipstick. Their Jeffery Campbell stilettos are putting short boys to shame.

Get ready for lots of hard-sets and color melting AVEDA cosmetology school students, because every girl with long hair wants Kim Kardashian curls and ombre highlights. Blonde hair has become white, and pop has become electronic. Boys are wearing Ray-Bans in every color possible and fist-pumping at every event they can get to. It’s like the city is a fashion show, and “Smell’s like Teen Spirit” is the theme.
