Since I’ve been working towards my future as a professional artist here at the AVEDA Institutes in Jacksonville, Florida, I can honestly say my favorite hair styling tool and what makes me most comfortable here would be the hairdryer.

I love the hairdryer because I feel as though its an extension of my body. It’s a form in which I can apply what the client wants and what I feel is best with my knowledge of the arts. It allows me to create my vision and be as multi-dimesional as my inner self allows. It’s as though I am modeling a picture of the world, a world of fashion, as simple as a style seen by my guest. It’s a way to transform their mundane day, into an immaculate day, without the use of chemicals– which is sometimes seen by the outside of our industry as something that seems out of the ordinary.

To be able to take a fabric, such as hair, and transform it into a work of art that I feel reflects a combination of my guests needs and my extensive training, is what drives me to become a phenomenal artist within this industry.

I have worked incredibly hard to become the stylist I am today and currently have a great deal of learning ahead of me here at the AVEDA school– the best beauty school in Florida– and everyday after. I am honored to say I’m an AVEDA student and am very excited for what lies ahead on this amazing cosmetology educational experience.
