At AVEDA many things have happened that contribute to my future success as a hairstylist. One of my greatest successes was being selected as member of AVEDA’s Editorial Team. I was in phase A1 when I tried out for the team. The requirements to join the team were that I maintain 95% attendance- which is an accomplishment in itself- and that I came in on an off day and created an Avant-Garde style on a model to try-out for the team. I did an updo with a 5-strand braid on my model and it was a success.

Some of the things the team does is as follows: We style the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders’ hair for some of their events; last month we styled their hair and did their makeup for their calender fashion show at LIV in Miami. I had a great time meeting them, doing their hair and watching the show. It was a special event for me because I am a Dol-Fan. Another privilege the Editorial team has, is that we will be doing hair and makeup for an upcoming Halloween party on (Sunday) October 23rd from 4-8pm, for which all proceeds will be donated to the BRCF for Breast Cancer Awareness. This is an important event, as we all know that this disease effects many people close to us.

There are many other upcoming events that I look forward to participating in. I am proud to be a member of the Editorial Team and I am excited about the opportunities it will give me to grow as a stylist.
