Helping Mom Look Her Best: Beauty School Tips & Tricks

by Priscilla Silvestre on September 29, 2011

Somewhere between the 2am feedings and diaper changes you’ve found yourself in a fashion rut… or the early wake ups to prepare breakfast and lunches for the fam will drain your desire to look cute…you lost the time to freshen up your face or hair or anything else for that matter. Here are some of the best beauty school tips to still look your best from the AVEDA cosmetology schools Miami:

First, invest in a low maintenance hair style. If you color your hair, one way to save a little money at the salon is to tell your stylist to touch up your roots only, this would cost half of what you would pay for a regular visit! Also getting a short, stylish haircut maybe the Sway or something with lots of texture like Block layers…can look great with letting it air dry and applying some great product…such as AVEDA smoothing fluid to add some shine while maintaing volume (it’s a beauty school favorite!). Short, face-framing hair cuts are ideal for mothers because you look stylish with very little effort.

Next, buy a cute pair of flats. You can pair flats with jeans or with dress pants or even a cute summer dress. Flats are all the style right now and they come in different designs and colors! They also tend to dress you up more then if you were wearing sneakers or flip flops.

Stay away from sweatpants when going out in public, although they are super comfy, try a cute pair of yoga pants instead. Sweatpants can make anyone look frumpy, while yoga pants tend to make you look more pulled together. Big t-shirts are a no-no!

A good tip for all moms is to subscribe to a good magazine and right before you go to bed grab that style magazine to get inspired wth new looks and stay updated with all the new trends . It only takes five minutes to browse through the mag while the kids are sleeping and could mean the difference between frumpy and fabulous!
