This is a difficult question to answer as there have been MANY experiences to date that I would rate as my favorite since starting here at the Institute, going on two months ago.

As I am nearing the end of intro, I can reflect back on my first day with a smile. I was terrified. Not at the thought of meeting new people or being in a new place, but the fact that I had never attempted anything like this before. I didnt grow up doing my friends hair, or studying the latest hair styles and best beauty school trends, and I certainly never thought that at 28 years old I would be entering into the Master Stylist Program at AVEDA school.

I faced each day with a nervous anticipation to begin with, coming to class and trying not to let on how scared I was that I wasnt going to “get” something or that whatever we were learning that day just wouldnt click in my head due to my lack of background with the cosmetology industry.

Slowly, however, I began to realize that as long as I applied myself to whatever it was we were working on…I seemed to be grasping the concept. The staff, as well as my fellow classmates, have made my educational introduction to the cosmetology industry one of fluid-like progression.

To date, my favorite experience here at the AVEDA Institute, Jacksonville has been being surrounded by like-minded people, who are pursuing a natural creative passion through providing themselves with the best possible education in the industry. I find immense inspiration in the fact that what I am doing with my life, right now, today… is changing EVERYTHING about my future.
