After completing not just one but two bachelors of science degrees at Florida State University, of course the next step would be going to Grad or Law School, right? Wrong.

Joining the Fall 2012 class at AVEDA Institute Tallahassee was a massive decision for me; it meant breaking every dream that my parents and family had for me and doing what I finally felt was right.

I have always loved fashion, makeup, and funky hair color; I have always loved doing my own hair as well as the hair of my friends; and I just happened to be lucky enough to live by one of the best cosmetology schools in the world AND have friends who went to that school. These friends shared with me how incredible AIT really is.

They told me about the close-knit family everyone becomes and how much they really learn– it’s nothing like a technical school where you learn the minimums and they send you on your way, and it’s not like a university where you sit in a classroom without any hands-on work and tune out your teacher.

Here at AIT, one actually has the opportunity to dive head first into the school work, and really learn what hair styling and the fashion world is all about.

The best part being that it’s not on your own– you are given a whole new group of friends and family to help and support you on your way. From what I’ve seen so far, this location is a great role model for just that.

Not to mention, we have some of the best hair stylists I’ve had the opportunity of both working with and having my hair done by.
