This is something that changes for me frequently. However, no one can deny that right now BIG hair is the way to go– everyone at the Jacksonville AVEDA beauty school would agree– so currently my favorite styling tool is the classic styling comb used to backcomb.

This is a GREAT way to get MOUNTAINS of volume. Personally, I have taken on the challenge of perfecting the long haired mohawk in cosmetology school. The styling comb is paramount for crisp, clean partings, as well as the volumizing back comb.

This tool is incredibly diverse in usage, from beauty school haircuts to intricate up-dos, bouffants, braids, and curls, the styling comb can accomplish anything.

There are many different versions and sizes, all of which are geared towards specific purposes. This comb is also a key element in the finishing of nearly every hairstyle imaginable.

The styling comb is a timeless tool, for cosmetology school and everyday. It’s something our grandparents used and will be something our grandchildren use. Everyone remembers “school day” pictures wherein we were given miniature versions of the styling comb to make any last minute finishing touches on our “picture perfect” hair.

I personally was always thrilled to know that I could keep it after use! If we were comparing a stylist to a cowboy the styling comb would be our six shooter, small yet powerful!
