The Ultimate All-American Hairstyle
When thinking about what I believe to be the “All-American Hairstyle” only one style comes to mind: variations of the graduated concave. Going to the best cosmetology school and talking with other students and staff, it’s clear– the graduated concave proves in so many ways to be the ultimate all-american hairstyle. The graduated concave to me says many thing about a woman. It say that she is a leader, very confident in her abilities and that she likes style which is why when I think of this variation I see it mostly on business women or those who are in power. For the business woman it’s usually heavy with a slight bevel at the bottom and a strong perimeter. Usually with the shortest section at the lower nape and the longer section just below the chin and makes a statement along with her pressed business attire. The “graduated concave” is also a style that is also seen on alot of moms. The style is usually heavy with the back at upper shoulder length and the front below the shoulder (still with a heavy perimeter). This style makes it easy for your stay at home mom or even a working mom to be able to pull the hair back into a ponytail when dealing with the children. Last but not least you have your fun “graduated concave”, you see this style with alot of texture and layers throughout the haircut giving the apperance of layers and a softer perimeter. Most times it makes it’s debut on the younger women of our generaton (and sometimes men). The texture and layers make the hair lighter which gives it volume throughout providing more options for the finished style. With all the many variation of what is basically the same hairstyle it never becomes boring, it remains fun and unique. I.e. The “Ultimate All-American Hairstyle”
