I don’t know about you, but one of the summer accessories I wish for is a line of summer products that addresses the more extreme damage I tend to do to my skin during the summer season. Cleansers and moisturizers for normal, everyday use are wonderful. What I wish for is something to help prepare and protect my skin before and during sun exposure and then after-care for the damage done due to over-exposure of the sun, wind, and elements. Yeah, yeah, I already know about SPF sunscreens and such, but the fact is I will experience at least one sun burn each season and more than likely follow it up with even more exposure throughout the season.

I wish for a light weight, water-resistant, sweat-resistant moisturizer with SPF protection that will work well with my sunscreen. Then I would like a heavier moisturizer (perhaps for nighttime use) as after-sun care.

Of course I can always use Aveda’s Inner Light Mineral Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 and Aveda’s Lip Saver with SPF 15. I could also use the Embrightenment Brightening Correcting Crème and the Green Science Firming Eye Crème for heavier moisturizing. And for those really over-exposed days, I could use the Intensive Hydrating Masque. All of these products are wonderful, but wouldn’t it be great to have a special summer line dedicated to those of us who need a little extra seasonal help? Because let’s face it, summertime is especially hard on our skin and I, for one, wish there was a great accessory skin care line to help minimize the damage that is going to occur.

It’s just a thought, but as long as we’re wishing, we might as well wish big.
