1. What AVEDA products would you reccomend for sun/skin protection?

It’s summer and we all need protection from the sun. Our hair and skin can get damaged if we don’t have the right products. Fortunately at AVEDA we carry a line of products that serve this purpose. For our hair we have Sun Care Protective Hair Veil. This is a spray that contains UV filters and is to be applied to hair before and during exposure to the sun. It is perfect for a day at the beach or pool or can be used for everyday protection from the sun. We also carry a hair and body cleanser, which is color safe and washes away salt and chlorine. Additionally, we offer a After Sun Hair Masque which helps pevent free-radical damage. It is to be used after shampooing and is quick: 2-5 minutes. For a finishing touch we also carry a SPF 15 tinted moisturizer, which is sheer and oil-free. These are all great products that we can get plenty of use out of during the summer.

2. How do you create synergy between your hairstyle and makeup?

It’s important to create synergy between your hair and makeup. This is because it wouldn’t look right if a person had edgy hair and conservative makeup or vice-versa. Also it is important to match hair and makeup style with the style of clothes, and make it all appropriate for the setting it is to be worn in. This creates balance and will have your clients satisfied.

3. How do you keep all of your beauty supplies organized?

It is imporant to keep your beauty supplies organized, weather it’s makeup or hair implements. I keep my makeup in a case with compartments for each kind of makeup. For example, there are different sections for lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliners, foundations, etc. I always make sure to put things back where they belong so next time I need them I know where they are and I don’t waste time looking for them. For my hair styling implements, I use the same system with my kit on wheels I was given from school, which also has compartments.

4.What summer accessories are on your wishlist?

The summer accessory that is on my wishlist is a fedora. I would like one of these because they provide a way to protect skin and hair from sun exposure while being fashionable.
