More advice for beauty school

by Anthony Pernicka on May 3, 2011

Since I’ve been a student at Aveda Institute Tallahassee, I’ve learned a lot and received a great deal of advice from both students and educators alike. However, the single most beneficial piece of advice i have gained from school thus far is to simply mind your own and stay away from the “drama”. As cosmetologists we have a tendency to gossip (not to stereotype, but hey, its what we do!) and that is okay to a certain extent as long as conversation remains professional. But there has been instances when we tend to go a little overboard and it may sometimes involve those who we are going to school with. It is only human for tensions to be high by the time Saturday rolls around, we’re tired, its usually been a long week and we’re ready to get

our “weekend” going and unwind. I myself am guilty of being involved in one of the minor family disagreements and its not because we all dislike each other, its more of a difference in opinions due to the fact that we are all so strongly opinionated. We have to keep in mind though, thats just what we are, a FAMILY! So the best cosmetology school advice that I have gained is to simply stay professional. Stay a tight knit family and even when tensions are high, and relieve your stress in other ways. Heck, put your efforts into giving a top of the line service instead of making a bad day for not only you but those around you! Im thankful to have had the opportunity to give my opinion and share this small piece of advice and I hope that it benefits everyone. (:
