Week 4 of the Intro phase just began, and so far I feel I have learned a great deal. I’ve had initial struggles working on new hair styles and techniques, but with practice I have begun to master them. Today was our first model day, and despite nervousness and remembering all the steps, I believe our class did quite well. Styling an actual person is immensely more rewarding than simply styling a mannequin. We were able to play around with the products and really give our guests the looks they wanted. During the model process, our instructor was there to offer help and advice. She fully explained what was required of us, and she was available to answer our questions. After styling my model, I felt very fulfilled. Not only had I created a unique style, but I had made my guest feel better about himself. At the end of the service I performed a chakra wellness for him, which helped him feel more balanced and centered. I can’t wait to be on the floor working with actual clients. I enjoy the satisfaction of making someone look and feel beautiful. If I can use my talents learned at Aveda to help others, I be fulfilled in my future career.
