When your walking down the street with a new pair of shoes, you would want someone to notice right? Ofcourse! Everyone loves to feel good about themself, and I love to help. As a hairstylist you become a bestfriend, a comforter, a counselor, image consultant, and a lifestyle coach. I somewhat think hairstylists are so underrated because we are responsible for so much. For example, I had a guest who brought her daughter in to lift her spirits after a loss of a CLOSE loved one. Her daughter felt so bad about herself and walked out of our doors with a new leash on life. You never know what you come across in this industry and that is what I love about it. It’s like living life on the edge, being spontaneous, changing images, and this is MY job, so I own it with everything that I have.

As a hairstylist it cultivates my creativity and it gives you the ability of making something out of nothing. For example, an artist uses a blank canvas to create a beautiful, artistic, amazing picture. Clearly, that is what we should be doing here as hairstylists. As a hairstylist you do so much, and put so much effort in to people that you really have to work off of passion and not take it as a hobby. Beauty is craft to be taken seriously, and thats why I adore what I do!
