In the 5 months I’ve spent at Aveda, I have been offered so many experiences and opportunities to grow as a person and to expand my love and creativity with hair. One of the first things I learned and took to heart was Aveda’s mission statement. It speaks of caring for the world we live in through environmental responsibility and to take that responsibility outside the walls of the beauty industry. The school has provided many opportunities for us students to actively participate in events that directly mirror and support our mission. I recently participated in “Aveda’s Catwalk for Water”, which was a fashion show that supported Earth Month and raised money for the Gulf Restoration Network. The creativity that was displayed in fashion, hair and make-up was outstanding. With every different model that walked the runway you were able to see the direct output of education that Aveda puts into its students.

On a day to day basis, Aveda has provided me the opportunity to live out my passion and love for the beauty industry. I have been supported in my own ideas and creativity and have been challenged with new ideas and concepts. I love the personal interaction I have with my instructors, classmates and guests. The environment provided at the school and the education I receive makes me look forward to everyday at Aveda and more importantly let’s me know I have the chosen the best profession in the world!
