Which cosmetology class (Phase) has challenged you the most?
I would have to say that the first phase (Intro) was the most challenging for me. I think it is because even though I was familiar with styling hair it was difficult because I was having to learn everything in a new way. You come into school and have to learn everything from a technically correct stand point, so its almost like retraining yourself on how to do something you might already know. For example everyone knows how to dry hair but you learn how to do it in a more effecient and proper way that is not only faster but is more beneficial to the health of the hair as well. One of the other challenging aspects that I found with intro is that you learn so much in that first phase that its almost like information overload but it helpful in the long run, because once your through intro your not only working on guests more as you get further along in the schooling process but you’re glad that you got all of the “hard” stuff out of the way in th e beginning. It may seem like its so difficult in the beginning because you have to change your ways and habits but once you learn the right way you will be glad you went through the difficult stuff in the beginning, it makes everything so much easier later on.
