The lifestyle of a student at Aveda Institute Orlando is an unforgettable and inspirational journey. Its filled with countless friendships that will last a lifetime and an education you will not receive anywhere else. From the foundation to learning out side of the box, Aveda’s curriculeum is none other than outstanding.  All my life I’ve wanted nothing more than to make people feel beautiful. This school has helped me learn, build, improve, and prefect my skills. The educators and staff are the most exquisite and talented group of people that I have ever encountered.

My journey began when I first started reviewing Cosmetology schools and I came across the Aveda Institutes. I had heard nothing but good about the schools so I eagerly looked more into it. Two years ago I moved to Cocoa, FL, from Charleston, South Carolina. I had planned on moving to Orlando to go to school. Soon after the move, Bella Woodward contacted me and set up a meeting at the school. When I visited and toured the school I instantly fell in love with Aveda’s mission in life. The atmosphere was incredible,and the room was filled with tons of people who shared the same passion and love for hair as I did. The smiles were welcoming and I was just getting started.  My decision was made and with the help of financial aid, I was to start school on February 1, 2010. I was ecstatic, nervous, and eager has the date crept closer. At first, we were strangers but, that lasted all of a week. Soon after, our class became more than friends. We became a family. Sometimes we laughed, sometimes we cried but, we were always there for each other. We applauded strengths and worked on our weaknesses. We taught and we learned.

Going to school at Aveda was amazing, inside and out.  During the summer months, which is 80% of the year in Florida, there is nothing like the feeling of your feet in the sand and the sun on your skin. One of Florida’s numerous beaches could simply be the answer for your relaxing getaway.  Orlando is also home of plenty of famous theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios. There’s so much to do and so many opportunities.  Aveda is located by four other major schools which means plenty of places to go, people to meet, and hair to cut!.  Downtown Orlando consists of endless clubs, restraunts, venues, and a one of a kind night life. There’s a wide variety of music, people and atmosphere on every street.  Personally, my class and I love to go out dancing, to a concert, or to dinner on Wednesday nights. It gives us a time to enjoy each other company outside of school.

I feel so lucky, honored, confident, and privileged to be a student and soon to be graduate of Aveda Institute Orlando. I wouldn’t want it any other way. The people here have helped me start my journey to becoming not only a hairstylist but, one of the best hairstylist. Aveda Institute trains their educators, students, and staff to be the very best.  It is what it is. It has been an amazing educational experience that I will take with through life.
