Hair Trends of the Stars

Cosmetology SchoolWhat’s happening now in the beauty and fashion industry is amazing, I love the way color and cuts are always being updated and changed, to fit the modern times of today, but still have that classic timeless essence of clean and balanced lines. It is always important to learn the basics of hair styling, but at the Aveda institute of Orlando they always make sure to keep you on track on what’s happening next in cut’s and colors. Even though we have our own variations and names for cuts, we are still able to recreate anything and everything going on TV, in magazines, and basic everyday styles.

For example Frankie Sanford’s “trendy Asymmertrical haircut” which I feel is just to die for, is what we here at Aveda of Orlando would call “The Sway”. One of the cutest short cuts out right now. They make sure to touch on how to over direct hair in the right direction to create that asymmertrical or disconnected look that everyone is now looking to have. They also make sure to explain and make us understand why we would go back in on a cut like this and texturize, and how to texturize to give it that peacey look.

Another example of a very popular sassy short cut that is really big in the main stream is Kimberly Wyatt’s “layered straight updo”, or how we would have learned it at the Aveda of Orlando, scissor over comb around sections 1, and 2 and parts of 3, and 4, with a vertical transition and horizontal top with a forward flow. Making sure to point cut the hair cut to get that edgy, peacey look. And going back in and channel cutting to define the peaces out more.

Now reaching a beautiful rich color is always great when using the Aveda deep color line. This is one of my favorites. I really love taken a burnet and making her richer and given hair that extra shine which is easily amazing to do with deep. For example in this picture below I would go ahead and make sure to follow my Aveda A, making sure to have clean and neat partings, working from root to ends.

Another very popular highlighting method which in this picture was labeled as “Ruby Slivers”, here at Aveda of Orlando we would call “accent foils”. If there is one thing I love about Aveda’s Full spectrum line is how vibrant the reds are. Making sure to keep in mind how the hair is falling we would go ahead and section off the areas we don’t want to get color on and then going in with some heavy back to back slicing. To give it that bold effect.

Another great and very popular long haircut would be what Tiffani Thiessen’s hair is doing in this picture. I love it not only because it’s a modern take on layers but also because it’s great for a night out or a day at the beach. How we would go about doing this is at Aveda of Orlando is with “pivoting concave” which would allow us to take the shorter layers on the inside and keep the length all around the perimeter. Making sure to point cut it. After texturize by going in and channel cutting it, we would then go in and cut her a heavy “fringe” making sure to elevate to give that wispy finish.

this is correct, trends are changing all the time and their are also different trends because everyone are not the same and if cosmetologist cannot notice or know how to do it then they will have less customers and thats not a good thing. good advice. it should help alot and will help me in the future when i become a cosmetologist. thanks! :)
